The annual Electric Chair Riot is only a few days away, and we're getting wet already. Last year was a lot of fun, and with five rooms of music spread over the Music Box and Jillys (Oxford Road) it's got something for everyone. We don't have enough space to work down the DJ rosta, but the highlights are the 8th Unabombers Set, Ashley Beedle, Justin Robertson, Paul Woolford and Chris Duckenfield. The Tramp DJs are also a welcome addition, and the tiny Shack (the backroom in the Music Box) plays host to Jerry Dammers (The Specials), Andy Votel and Dom Thomas.

Tickets are ?20, and well worth getting (The queue outside last years event was extreme) by clicking below. We've got a pair of tickets to giveaway as well, so if you're feeling lucky why not enter our competition?

After their relaunch last month Angel Deelite are up to full speed, and there's still two events to go before we enter 2007. This Friday (22nd) is the Angel Deelite Christmas Party, which features the much-loved residents and an imaginary Christmas Tree (to rock around!). With Xmas just a few days away it's a receipe for a great night out.

Then on December 29th the AD boys are hosting an alternative New Years Eve party. Get into the spirit of things, celebrate everything that happened in 2006, but it's only a fiver in and the bar is going to be uber cheap! They've kindly given us a pair of tickets to give away, so hit the link and be lucky!.

We've got the ultimate prize! Win backstage tickets for the Hacienda NYE - hang around with K-Klass and 808state!

Key103 and AEG Live are bringing the Hacienda back for your aural pleasure, with all the Hac favourites including (but not limited to) Graeme Park, 808 State (Great article on them at Wikipedia), K-Klass and Jon Da Silva. The 2,000 capacity Academy (Oxford Road) is the destination for ravers this NYE.

Ollie Wilson is the brains behind the event, and if the surname sounds familiar then let us fill you in. Ollie is Tony Wilson's son. Tony was the man behind the original Hac, Factory Records, and the subject of the seminal movie 24hr Party People, which still makes for good viewing. The event is in good hands, and the link-up with Key103 means it will be broadcast live, so if you whistle or shout loud enough you may get on the radio.....
