Restaurants and Eating in ManchesterLove food? Then you'll love Manchester. The ever expanding city has more than its fair share of restaurants, cafes and delis, and recently even more have opened in the city. Indian RestaurantsRecently Akbars, Eastzeast and Karims have opened in the City Centre, alongside the popular Shimla Pinks, and these restaurants provide more up market Indian food. Try Rusholme, an area just south of Manchester city centre, or the small Indian cafes in the Northern Quarter for a more authentic experience. Chinese and Asian FoodManchesters Chinatown is still the hub for all good Chinese food in the city, but recent openings like Vermillion provide a welcome diversion from the their more traditional eateries. Over in the Northern Quarter and Ning has proven to be popular, whilst the proposed Ithaca is going to be serving a very upmarket Asian menu. Eating out in Manchester FAQ Q: Wheres the best place to go to eat? A: That depends on what food you like! If you're after a good, semi-traditional Indian then head to Rusholme, which is about ten minutes outside Manchester city centre. You'll find a host of small Indian restaurants, takeaways and cafe bars in a half mile strip. This thriving little community supports some award winning eateries, and by day this area is swamped with hungry Mancunians. For Chinese food head to Chinatown, next to Portland Street, and if you're looking for other cuisines then look around the city centre. Deansgate has some good Italians (Negresco). Q: Is there any dress code for Manchester restaurants? A: Essentially no, Manchester is a much more relaxed place to dine out than London, but it's still worth bearing in mind that the top end restaurants will have a better standard of dress. Q: How much does the average meal cost in Manchester? A: It's usually a fairly cheap city to eat out in, with most meals in the standard range of œ10 - œ20 per head. You can get a better idea of prices by looking at the menus that we have for each restaurant. Q: Where are the apartments located? A: We have around 100 serviced apartments available online, and the majority of them are in central Manchester. We do have some in Salford Quays, Castlefield and Didsbury, but the location of each apartment is shown on our bookings pages. You can use our interactive map to see where your serviced apartment is in the city, and you can highlight nearby nightclubs, restaurants and bars. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
