An area covering just over a square mile (give or take) and a huge collection of bars, clubs, shops and hotels. Manchester City Centre focuses around Market Street - the main shopping area, and expands outwards past the fashional King Street to Deansgate and Peter Street. Most of the city centre bars or clubs are hidden away down backstreets, so exploration is the key. Highlights include the Circle Club, a private members bar located just off St Annes Square, 2Risque @ Club OHM and the fantastic Grinch restaurant and Bar.
Manchester city centre is home to not only hundreds of bars and pubs, but also many different regions (or as the city prefers to call them, quarters). ... More bars in City Centre
Until a few years ago you were hardly spoilt for choice if you wanted to stay in central Manchester. The most popular hotels of yesteryear are still thriving, but now they've been joined by a new breed of accommodation proviers. First came the boutique-esque Malmaison hotel (Piccadilly), followed closely by the Hilton over in Deansgate. Now the City Inn and Macdonaly hotel (Piccadilly) bring more luxury accommodation to the city. I can't forget to mention the Raddison on Peter Street, which is right in the heart of the city, and worth a mention is the array of serviced apartments that have popped up. You can now rent an apartment on a nightly basis, so you can live in the lap of luxury for a weekend for less than the cost of a hotel room. There's over seventy serviced apartments for rent in Manchester, from around fifty pounds per night up to five hundred. More hotels in City Centre
