Been there twice now. Got in quickly on both occasions even though the first time I was dressed VERY casually. The drinks are expensive but now and then you have to treat yourself, and they were absolutely delicious. The views of Manchester are amazing and it's nice to go somewhere not overcrowded with wooden floors and loud music; here, you can actually have a conversation. I would go back definitely!

Staff are down to earth and friendly & drinks are a reasonable price... Thiese people that moan , why do you bother going?? If you want cheap drinks then stick to weatherspoons...

£15 a drink too expensive

Can someone tell me if I am staying in the hotel do I still need to book or do I just jump the queue?
AgreeDisagreejessica says...
I stayed in the Hilton and went to Cloud 23, my advice is to book, although there was a huge queue we got priority because were staying in the hotel whilst toher have to wqait, cocktails vary from £7.50 - £10 but well worth the one, staff are very good and friendly.
No problems

I had to queue for half an hour, I asked why so long when only there were only 3 people in front of me. A jumped up little blonde wearing to much make up and her mums shoes ( who was so far up her own rectum that it was unreal) told me that people have been known to wait upto an hour and a half before gaining entry, on entry to the bar I was impressed by the veiws but unimpressed by the service and the layout. I stayed for one drink and went to panacea. this really is a venue trying to be something that it is not. leave it to the professionals eh

Not a patch on Vertigo in Bangkok, now there a high bar and open air, you do feel you are in the clouds, well when there are any. If a bar is goign call itself Cloud do sell yourself short, and sell out to the penthouse kids.

bar was great and views amazing. staff all really nice and the place has a really great atmospere for just having a great night with friends where u can actually talk. drinks suitably priced for surroundings. good idea to book as well, saves queuing. planning to go back soon. 10/10.

Pretty much nothing seems worth thinking about. Maybe tomorrow. My life's been generally bland today. Such is life. I've just been sitting around doing nothing, but eh.

This bar is expensive, but what do people expect?
I doubt anyone goes to this bar expecting a "good pint" at a reasonable price. If this bar was on the groundfloor then I would tell you it is nothing special. But its not.
The views of the city are amazing and that is the reason you should go...and I will go back.

I think Cloud 23 is an amazing bar it has stunning views that you will not find anywhere else in the city, the cocktails are delicious like a desert in a glass and well worth the wait - reasonably priced and in line with its comp set.
I had a wonderful time in this bar and found the staff to not only be friendly and prompt but also very knowledgeable about their drinks.
P.S. To gaurantee your entry and avoid a queue call up and book in advance you idiots - why would anyone turn up to Manchester newest hotspot with out a reservation - in responce to the bar being empty and roped off I should imaging it was booked out for a private event.

Went midweek and had to queue for three quarters of an hour. When we finally got in half of the place was completely empty and roped off, the other half was not full by any means - with loads of free seats. Felt like the queuing was just a PR stunt, with the bouncer just letting people in when he felt like it. Not a good PR stunt, though - since you felt miffed once you got in to find the place half empty.

Very disapointing - poor service, poor decor, poor seating arrangement. not what would be expected from a 5 star hotel!! I won't be going back....
AgreeDisagreeAnonymous says...
First impressions count!!!
No 'nibbles'! ("they are not in until tomorrow")
Poor seating arrangements (pre booked party)
1 drinks waiter catering for at least 6 parties/groups (was polite & appologetic)
Over rated. The customer is No 1. Choice is everything!

boring bar, boring people, no vibe, great views, over priced drinks, no food offering, over priced, yes i know i said that twice. basically a load of crap. northern quarter, panacea and the anticipated ithica will do for me.

just let you all know that in that bar there is a lack of staff and stuff.have you noticed that working in that place is the hardest job in the whole manchester? It is always busier than it is ready for.
Sometimes the clientele is more pretentious than the bar is ready for.
The staff is good and they have to deal with lots of bulls*it.

Ideal for pretentious arseholes.
What is the point of making people queue for half an hour or more when the place is empty?

Went first weekday no problem, watched sunset great view. Went on a friday night, useless jobsworth lift staff, why have a queue if you're going to let any fit chick sweet talk the guy to let them in! Once upstairs sent away from the bar as quoted, "Step away from the bar it's table service only!" After waiting a further 15mins a waitress took our order, but came back and said the barman can't do a tanqurey ten gin and elderflower juice even though they are both on the menu. What's that was he not trained to mix those two, then came the bill over twenty pound for two large drinks and all the hostility. Don't ever bother unless you pop up to use the toilet, jumped up staff in a jumped up location!

As soon as I sat down next to the window and was faced by a fantastic view, I immediately relaxed. The cocktails were delicous yet quite expensive, however it was worth it for the atmosphere and view. The only downside was the service was slightly slow.

we stayed at the Hilton hotel so didn't have to cue up to get to the bar. we did see the cue, it looked pretty long but the lift takes about 15 secs so I image you wouldn't be waiting long.
the bar is split in 2 areas, one is sections of for booking only - we were told you would have to book well in advance. the main bar is great, we were in there around 9.30 onwards, they do table service so you don't have to stand waiting at the bar, all the staff there are very nice.
the view was amazing, especially once it got darker. its a great bar if you don't want all the crowds of people and cues at bar etc - great place to just relax and have a few drinks.
The drinks are not any dearer then what you would pay and most places in Manchester city centre. Cocktails were amazing.
we will definitely be going to cloud 23 again.
