Oooh Corbieres ???.. Just one word, ladies and gentlemen - (absolutely) ?FANDABIDOZI? ! I must have spent a fair wad of cash in here over the years in this bars? pre-lizard on the wall days and, aside from the addition of the aforesaid cuddly reptiles, nothing much has changed - and that is a GOOD thing!

Go down the stairs and its an absolute God-send from the world outside: dark & dingy, yet warm, safe and friendly atmosphere. The raggedy old juke box (raggedy in a loveable Bagpuss way) plays predominantly indie tunes. Although I personally have rather eclectic taste it is absolutely fine just the way it is - it's like the cinnamon sprinkles in my latteé: compliments it perfectly; I wouldn't change a thing.

I haven't been for a number of months at the time of writing. I would LOVE to be able to lounge in there for hours on end every week but I have been saving for exotic travels (hence no beer money), and scripts to learn (hence no spare time). I also don't like my normally hard as ice heart melting and distracting me in a manner which could only lead to tears(!)(yes, I know I'm being cheesy!), which leads me to the BEST reason for any ladies reading this to visit if they have never been before -

The bar manager, Phil, is the most gorgeous, yummiest bloke I have ever seen in my LIFE! If he didn't already have a girlfriend, and if I were a stunner, I wouldn't hesitate in pursuing him! Mmmmmm ??

Overall I would give the place 10/10. Hope I've been helpful. X

you want good drinks prices? a varied crowd comprising workers, students, scensters, old timers, winos and fun seeking mancs? you want an indie jukebox, with lashings of punk, motown, soul and funk? you got it right here so get down there and don't forget to try the varied and lovingly prepared menu (before 4 tho!), NB at least 2 members of the earlies used to work here at some point!

corbieres is the best bar in Manchester maybe I say that because me dad owns it hi every1 dat works der!

Went to Corbieres a couple of weeks ago. I used to fancy the barman Phil but have gone off him since he can't fit in his shirts anymore.

We discovered this bar yesterday after a recommendation and have to say it's immediately jumped into my list of favourite bars in Manchester! Nice underground bar, great decor, relatively cheap drinks and a good selection of beers to boot. Excellent juke box, and a Simpsons pin ball machine. The clientelle truly is varied, with something for everyone, and I can't recommend this bar enough. Maybe needs a few more tables as we didn't get a seat, but we weren't there for long so will have to make a sustained visit during the week! Shame, that...

I was in Manchester on Saturday nite and as a Scouser, I had to be careful where I went, but Corbieres and the people in there were the best, so friendly and really cool, I met a lovely couple who even gave me a ciggy :0) cant wait to go back again.

If its as good as the above reviews state, does it get packed to the rafters?

Great place for after work drinks to escape the city streets. It's unashaedly a drinking hole, but I think they might do food as well. Reasonably priced, good tunes and friendly atmopshere.

Lurvely ickle bar. Neva any trouble and gud music. Fit bar men.
