I went to dukes a few weeks ago for a drink with some friends it took me at least 25 miuntes to get served and the bar staff got the drinks wrong not to mention the managers were not very friendly either I wont be going back there anytime soon

Nice bar,never had any problems getting served unlike that other bloke.Just wait until you can sit outside by the canal in the sunshine...bliss!

why dont they have a phone number ? The one given here and everywhere else goes through to LR leisure, no good when you want to contact the bar

my wife and i was disgusted with the attitude of the manageress of dukes 92 dont know her name as she refused to tell me when i wanted to make a complaint about her giving the pair of us dirty looks and tutting whilst trying to get served by her incompetant staff

its a local of mine and is a perfect place on a sunny day. pity they dont look after their beer - tastes terrible. never had any trouble getting to the bar...never waited more than a minute..

Nice place and smart looking birds serving ale ok food and ale crap but as long as the chicks are nice. Too many married couple complaining at the service. Thats what happens when you are hooked up with a bit of rough sat on yer own.

had my daughters christening there cost a fortune, stale bread undercooked food.... too about 15 phone CALLS to get a small refund, absolutly useless from some one that never complains but is very disapointed with this place....

Love Dukes 92 and the surroundings, slap bang in the middle of the industrial revolution beginnings, food is great as well as the service, love the pate and cheese in the daytime, in fact going there again on Wednesday.

Went to Dukes 92 on NYE 2009/2010 and what a shamble of *****! The music resembled a poor wedding DJ, the free champagne was just cheap cava, make that VERY cheap cava. No countdown was played inside the venue so those who got stuck either in the doors or who weren't able to go upstairs (as they shut the doors 5 mins before midnight) were stuck wondering what time it was and not able to view any of the fireworks included in the ticket price.
Dukes has always been a bar with a bit of class and generally a safe bet. But this was nothing more than a poor man's attempt at a party with basic decorations, bar staff in tacky sports outfits and a diabolical DJ. Think he thought the crowd was 50+ as 'come on eileen' seemed to be his favourite track. What a waste of £15
Will be steering clear of Dukes in the future and wished we'd stuck to the original plan of Barca now!

Been meaning to make this review for a long time but been far to angry to ever put into words.

I had my wedding there early in 2009 and the incompetence is unexpainable. Untrained staff with no communication along with a rude manger who didn't even make an appearance on the day. My wedding fell upon the hottest day of the year and Dukes was descended on, surely they should of checked the weather forcaste and known they were going to need more staff. Our drinks reception was under staffed the champagne that was supposed to be waited at an extra cost ended up on the table where people had to help themselves not to mention they forgot to put our wedding favours out on the table. The food was sloppy the brownie was smaller than shown on the taster menu everything was a shambles. If I can give anyone any advice NEVER HAVE YOUR WEDDING AT THE CASTLEFIELD ROOMS DUKES 92.....luckily we had a fantastic band that save the day along with a sunny day If after complaining it was a struggle to get any sort of compensation with out chasing for months which wasn't anything to ever make up for what they did. We wanted closure so had to give up our battle.

I was in Dukes 92 on Sat 26th June 2010 and I asked what the soup of the day was, i was informed by the waiter it was Leak and Potato, when it came there was no bread roll accompanied, also it looked a funny colour, so i tasted it and it was mushroom soup, so i asked the waiter what the soup was again and he informed me yet again it was Leak and Potato, I told him it was mushroom soup, he never offered me another choice, but just said he would take it off the bill. When my main came it was fatty and i left it, we was never asked if the food was ok. Waiters not a clue Wouldn't go here again for food

Went to Dukes 92 with friends last week and was really impressed with the service in the restaurant. My friends wife spilt her drink over the table and there was an immediate response from two members of staff who helped mopping up the spillage. As they did so one member of staff noticed that some of the drink had spilled onto my already partially eaten main course. Within seconds my plate was removed and immediately replaced with a fresh full meal. Eat your heart out Gordon Ramseys secret diners!
