Rough. Rude bouncers. Nice bar staff and decent music but nothing makes up for rudeness and agression from door staff. Steer clear

Not too good. Music is good but if you like to pushed into the whole night or stand next to a wannabie cool person and not be able to move you arms as the place is so packed, this is you place for you.

Best bar in Manchester at the mo. kicks the pants off the northern quarter. Bar staff are outstanding and the music is constantly anthemic. Wish I had there playlist. True about the crowds though. Thursday is the best day I find.

after reading reviews about mojo, we tried to track id down, when we finally found it... what a dissappointment! very shabby place, not in any nice ways, its just a dirty little room with uninventive cocktails, poorly presented and over expensive. thick with cigarette smoke and overflowing with empty glasses on every table and surface.

This is a brilliant place to go. The atmosphere is amazing. The staff are so friendly. We have met some fantastic people in there and will be continuing to go every weekend. If your a bit miserable then I suggest you go else where, cos there is to many smiley faces and happy people for you.

Nice decor, (of what i could see past the many people). However, music was waay to loud, or not even that, bass was way too loud. The songs sounded brilliant to begin with, but then the bass comes in and rocks you off your seat. Would go back if the bar staff had any hearing left and could realise this....or unless i decide i like a lot of bass.

Cool playlist and generally good atmosphere. But; very expensive, far too packed at weekends, a lot of trendy ponces just there to look good (not very rock and roll at all!), rude doorstaff, and it takes forever to get served cos the barstaff are too busy dancing on the bar or other such gimmicky bulls*it.

If you like rock music then you're probably better off goin down Oxford road and joining the students.

What an absolute disgrace! Sat night, just been to see the Courteeners (who were fantastic, going to see them at the Apollo definitely!) and Mojo was recommended, I'd never been before but it sounded pretty good. Anyway, it was really busy, to be expected at any decent bar in the City Centre. I waited patiently at the bar, not wanting to 'annoy' the bar staff (of which two were on that night SATURDAY!) Some tool stood next to me asked why I hadn't been served yet, I'm waitng my turn I replied. One of the two (!) bar members said you're next! Great! l Nice one! So I waited AGAIN! Then she proceeded to serve someone else down the bar! I said something along the lines of I was next! (Ill remove expltives!) I wasn't rude or obnoxious but as you can imagine was quite p***ed off) The bar tender then gave me an absolute mouthfull! I was shocked! As was the girl to my right was but the fella to my left who was gob all mighty 2 mins ago kept shut! She proceeded to be rude and gave me my 2 beers 'on the house' (how nice!) but I wouldn't be served again! I was fuming! I TRIED to find a manager! That an arduous task! The original nasty wouldn't give me her name (but i know what she looks like! I wasn't that drunk :-)) The door man was garbage! So i went downstairs to find a Manager! No joy! Back up stairs I went to the bar, I really wanted to ask what the hell had gone on, I'd done nothing wrong in my eyes! I saw the female bar staff approach another (who I think was the Manager! But who knows!) She told me that i woudln't be served again! I asked if I coulld sort this out! I really hadn't understood where this had stemmed from! But I was unable to discuss the matter (and whether its a Saturday night or not, I'm still the customer) I'd had enough at that point and was actually quite upset (I only wanted a beer!) The staff (especially the female on 19th April about 12.30) were rude, ignorant, unhelpful and nasty. This review may not deter people from going to MOJO but it makes me feel that little bit better! I think I might even go to the papers

Mojo is p**s poor. Too cramped. Thinks its something it's not. Won't be going again.

Went last night 15/05/08. Bar had about five people in it. Three were sitting with drinks and another two were at the bar being served. The barman totally ignored us...for five minutes or so. I couldn't believe his attitude; all he had to do was acknowledge our presence and we wouldn't have been so wound up. His attitude was so poor I was inspired to look up reviews and am not surprised at the extremely poor reviews here. Do not go here!

Mojo's is class, wot a good nite out you can do anything in there. the door staff aren't dicks and the bar staff are mint. the only way you would have trouble is if ur an absoloute nob. SAFEEEEEEE!

****Heard so much about this place and thought I'd best visit it. Saturday night and It was a MINTA, lived upto all it's reviews and the bar staff got me steaming on Black Sambucca's........ HAPPY DAYS.... Well worth a shoulder dip and it's still sore now*****

Went on Saturday for a few beers and it's a good laugh in there. Not a big fan of ?3 a bottled beer but it's Heineken so I'll let them off lol.

from reading these reviews im a bit confused as its 50 50 on weather to go. herd its well crap, but herd its good. have to realy see for myself.

Love this bar and its and its changing for the better Fridays are atmospheric and brilliant and vibrant, quiet drink in the afternoons and a colourful mix at night. x

Spent the weekend in manchester and went here on friday and sat night, quality atmosphere and quality music, i found the bar staff really fast , but can imagine it taking a while sometimes

Would be good if the bar staff didn't pass off the number one brand of Tennessee Whiskey for another bourbon, thinking I didn't see! When I noticed this I was told by the bar man "We don't serve that sh*t here!" Nice to see the customer and their opinion come first... Apart from that great Music and people.

Great music and atmosphere when you get there, have been a regular for 5 years...however 2 weeks ago I was served by somebody called Johnny Colkin. Have never been treated so disgustingly my entire life, I was in shock....The manager is still to get back to me regarding the disgusting way the bar staff seem to be allowed to speak to paying customers.

Can anyone tell me wether its a youngsters bar or for the over 30s or any other bars in Manchester that caters for us non youngsters, Thank you

I've been twice to mojos and i think its a brilliant place, for those that are complaining it's 'dingy' or 'cruffy' get a fucking life, it's a rock and roll bar it's not going to be dressed up to the nines esp with people dancing on tables and the window cills like they were on friday (which may i add made an incredible atomosphere) i think the decor is ace, the lighting makes it just that little bit different. As for the staff, i think they're lovely. A weirdo was annoying me and a friend a few times and also at the bar, i told the barman who swiftly and sternly told him to co-operate and leave us alone. I don't think the prices are bad either, £5 for a random coctail is not bad one bit, in an average sized glass aswell. All you lot that complain about the prices should get back to 5th av or 42s where the prices are cheaper but drinks are smaller and in a silly little plastic cup! And one last thing, it's bound to be busy, for gods sake, EVERYWHERE and anywhere popular will be, if you want a quiet bar then don't go out at weekends and avoid manchester at all costs!

I go there every week but the past month or so has left me feeling a bit aggreived. Reason is that the door staff, black guy, the fatn one and the skinhead are all massive tools. My friend was doing nothing as he was at the bar and they approached and said hesngot to go. So I said to th that I'd take him out not them. After 5 seconds of trying to get my friend out they'd had enough and grabbed him round the neck and through him out. Went last night and me and some other guys were not allowed in as there were too manyales in
there however 3 guys walk straight past and in. Seeing as it is a busy place people being alcohol fueld do get aggressive and I have seen a few altercatins in there.

I do like the place as the women are hot, music is good and nowhere else in manc is good enough to go to.

I'd just say that if u go ther, go with an open mind be prepared for it to be very very busy and the door staff
to be uncooperative unless your a female

i found mojo to be a good night out with a good mixture of music. didnt have any bother of the doormen but i have only been once. i will be back as i liked the crowd and the music.
