Stayed at the new union hotel for a weekend August 2006. great weekend due to friendly staff, clean rooms and excellent bar downstairs.

if they had a new union down soho id move back down south mint place to go love it

used to be one of the busiest bars in manchester ten years ago was busy every week every day and now its just awful... the new owners have really run that bar into the ground. it was known as a drag bar yet now they have ONE drag dj billie jean and side kick miss jay... what happened to the good old days when roxy/petra/felicia/Vanity used to dj/compare... went in last week and there was all of ten people in on the wednesday. went in again on the friday to find a short arsed sqeaky voiced dj playing crap music and singing to every song on the mic.and again the place was really quiet.. and as for the sunday shows the show is about getting yourself into charector and making the number believable not standing there and miming to other peoples songs... the shows used to be good bring back harry and margret and the good old days when the venue was worth a visit....

I am one of the Drag Queens who performs in The New Union and I think its the best bar in the village. For all those who say we are Vile or repulsive then take a good look at yourselfs as I know I am beutifull and I always end up taking men home at the end of the night your just jealous you dont live the exciting & glamourous life I do and will never be gorgeous so get over yourselfs. I am amazing and you are not

a great family run bar you never get fed up as something allways happens well done bob nice doors.
The shows on Sunday are fab great crowd and helpfull staff

this bar is changing all the time the staff are very helpfull and cheerfull door staff are good the owners are allways available this pub is packed all weekend the shows are better than most especialy on sunday you never know what is the theame lots of cast a changing crowd its well worth a vist

the showgirls of manchester dropped that name when that dick head Gary left the union and went to make disasters out of everything he went onto , i.e cafe la belle, a uk tour, the hollywood, need i go on??
