whoever wrote the above review is bad at their job....Sugar Buddha has said goodbye to the brickwork and hello to the gold leaf walls, enchanted by golden buddhas, goodbye to the old bars, and hello to new central bars, goodbye to the 'pub grub' and hello to sushi and champagne. The decor is out of this world. Over 25's....this is a night spot to watch!

To be fair, anonymous, the review is making more comment on your neighbours rather than Buddha Lounge itself. It is due to be updated once we've had a chance to come down and see what the place is like for ourselves, but I take your point.

I went to Sugar Buddha on Saturday its out of this world felt like I was in London Doormen dressed like Paul Smith models strict but aproachable inside was just amazing Gold Leaf walls massive crystal chandalier felt like I was in London I strongly advise you try the cocktails wow... cool people no young kids everyone looked about 25 or older I hope they stick to this formula it will be my new place to party. Oh not to make a list but there were celebs galore aswell David Seaman, Coronation cast, Holyoaks etc.....well done Sugar Buddha love the name.

I went in on Friday to the VIP opening, i couldn't have been more impressed. Perfect amount of people, not too many people making it crowded and uncomfortable. Bar Staff looked smart and very friendly. Bar prices suprised me...not over priced like sugar lounge use to be! Saw Kevin Campbell having a good time, refreshing to see a real older footballer rather than the kids jumping round. 10/10!

I was at Sugar Buddha on Saturday and the decor is stunning ! the coctails are like the best in New York and the bar staff and drinks hosts were fantastic . Uber cool and sexy !

reviews by staff members? nothing really inspirational here for me, flavas bustin' out of the sugar lounge mkII.. but as all that old sugar lounge crowd have the living room, panacea, circle route with all venues close together are they going to come back and grace this venue with their beauty? only time will tell.

Yeah went down Saturday, classy joint, use to be a regular at the old Sugar Lounge, Buddha is stunning inside, Doorman were smart strict but approachable, Door Host was dressed wicked and welcomed me and my pals in, drinks a little overpriced but apart from that had a good one, defo go again. Thank goodness we have a new classy bar opening in Manchester, its about time. I think we all need this because we are all bored of Panacea and there rude, vile doormen. I hope they stick to over 25's because it can be quite young on the Locks and that puts me off going out around that area.

went to sugar recently and was impressed, very cool bar just a little quiet. staff and customers all very good looking and friendly, service was excellent but its pricey 4.50 for a bottle of beer and only 1 choice?? as they say variety is the spice of life....

Went to Sugar the week after it opened. Loved pretty much everything about it, music was wicked, reminded me of the good old days of Sugar Lounge, but over 25's.... I dont think so, some real scally kids in there. Also, nobody wanted to dance, and when you tried to, got proper funny looks off those in the booths. Maybe I just chose the wrong night to go ...Saturday... ?! Pity you cant get the old members list and send out party invites... needs classy people who love good music aswell as good surroundings !

Wasnt impressed at all. Pricey half filled glasses and terrible service. the toilets later in the eveing were a disgrace

Looks nice but need to do concentrate on their human relations and check your change when paying

We went to Manchester for my hen night and were on the guest list for Sugar Buddah. When we got there I had a feather boa on and they would not let us in. The woman was really snotty and said "It's just not gonna happen tonight!" Where do they think they are? Wouldn't want to go in if it's like that. They were turning loads of people away. I have the feeling that if I was Katie Price with a feather boa on it may have been a different story. Get over yourself Sugar Buddah! You are in Deansgate not LA!

We were on the guest list for Sugar Buddah, however were refused entry (as were a group of black girls before us)- reason given was that there were already too many girls in the bar, however a group of blonde white girls were allowed in straight after us.
I went to ask why they were allowed in and we were not and was simply told the management has rights to refuse entry.
I can't believe places like this, who probably let in a very small amount of coloured people to hide the fact they racist
So unless your white don't bother going there!

Me and my mates came here on Saturday and it was a really good night. All staff were top and dj was mint. deffo coming here again. Been to all places on locks and this has got to be the best. didn't have to wait ages at the bar and you wasn't shoved about like you are in most places. 10 out of 10 :-)

As of July 2010 I know that a new guy called Anthony has come in to run the saturday nights, we booked a booth for saturday 24th and we have never been so well looked after on a night out, amazing music! quick bar service and none of what is being described above. great night and really stands out from the rest of the deansgate bars - full of young chavs causing trouble

came with my mates and had good time . we had some quality drink and the dj is just mint
have to say the reception wasn't that good, some guy called rick i think they should call him brick though .

Unimaginative theme - Buddha Bar, Buddha Lounge, etc... It's all been done before.

Went last night. Barman too busy dressing up, chatting with his mates and taking pictures to serve people.

I'd give it a miss.
