Scrotes? Not a single one during all my visits there. And if you *think* you're handsome, the chances are you have the wrong attitude - their door policy may have changed but if you're cool, attitude-free and are willing to spend your money with the big spenders of society, Sugar Lounge is still THE place to be. I give the Cocoa Rooms until Christmas...whereas the Sugar Lounge will flourish with it's new door and music policies. I guess we'll see!...

I absolutely love the sugar lounge the atmosphere is really good and relaxed, people who go n here are really friendly and chilled. always have a top night out at sugar. X

went to sugar on sat 16th June, had trouble getting in as the girl on the guestlist just seemed interested in letting her own friends in, and any male that paid her any attention. waited 20 minutes to get in and was told that we couldn't go up stairs cos we didn't have a pass, neither did the 10 wanna be gangster who intimidated the bouncer until he let them up.
drinks over priced, rather go to panacea it has a bit more class.......

Dreadful place. Went once, queued up for a ridiculous amount of time, thinking it might have been quite exclusive when we got in - turned out it was full of bright orange girls and middle aged men letching over them all. Stayed for one drink (overpriced at that) and left

Definitely give it a wide berth - plenty of better bars in Manchester if you want to do a bit of "posing" and drinking cocktails in a trendy place.

With hearing about the acclaimed VIP club, I was very disappointed to find a crowd that belonged in Peter Street. Classy and up market are not words I would use to describe this place. If you are looking to find young, cheaply dressed girls that look like hookers and so called gangers and minor celebrities this is the place to go. Also the door policy, what policy they let any one in that looks like they are yours if you buy them a drink.

Don't waste your hard earned cash on the sugar lounge. The ladies toilets were terrible and the drinks were ridiculously priced. Its supposed to be so exclusive and upmarket, that is so laughable. Oh and yes the so called 'lady' bouncer is obnoxious. My friend was more or less told why would they fill the S L with ordinary people when they can fill it with premiership footballers -BIG DEAL. They should rename it the SUGAR DUMP!

Regardless of what any of you think, I think the girl on the door is fantastic at what she does and very polite. Unfortunately she does have haters because its her job to knock people back, I'm sure you will all understand not everybody is suitable for the venue who tries to get it, plus its a guestlist only venue. Its people like her who have turned the sugar lounge round, last year I wouldn't have stepped foot in there, however now it is full of amazing people, really friendly staff and management and I can only praise the sugar lounge for the changes that have been made. Super night out. Maybe the knock backs should face the fact they belong in the Printworks and stop trying to get in, and when they do get told no- stop hating! your just embarrassing yourselves!

We went for my 21st birthday a while back, managed to get VIP for upstairs, which was marginally better than downstairs. The drinks are overpriced, the clientele is chavvy, the toilets are shabby and the DJ is awful at mixing. Save your money and head up the Northern Quarter to Socio Rehab or Odd - you'll get better drinks and service.

Well obviously the people who have such a problem with Sugar Lounge are jealous and embarrased about being turned away! The door woman is one of the nicest people i've met...she is just doing her job! I suggest next time you try and make it in an exclusive bar...maybe dress a little more classy...Everybody who goes to Sugar knows one another, we all get on and we have a fantastic time in one of the BEST venues!...stop with the jealous attitude and start trying the RITZ

Sum up all bad reviews that have been written about Sugar Lounge so far and multiple by 100 that?s Sugar Lounge Plus it stinks! it looks impressive from the outside but that?s where it ends....Honestly ...don?t bother!

hmmm Sugar lounge seems like you are in trouble with all these bad reviews...shame pic's looked good - That many people cant not be wrong. I would suggest you start making some changes, otherwise down the drain is what comes to mind....

As a female bouncer of many years standing i have seen the lot but i can only agree with certain reviews the female door woman on sugar lounge and certain other venues in manchester who belong to the same security company are rubbish an sia badge does not make a good door person, experience and the right persona goes a long way most of these females crumble at the first sign of conflict just an opinion

Me and my partner went to the bar to get a vodka and coke and a glass of white wine, when the barman said ?12 I thought he was joking so I asked again...VERY EXPENSIVE...especially to say we had just been to the living room prior to there. However if you want a laugh you should definately go there, we were sat down watching a couple of girls try and dance infront of the mirror looking at themselves. Pathetic. It was a real let down as there was so much hype about it, but if you've got something about you don't go there. RUBBISH
