Trof review

Trof manchester photoTrof sits in a side street that's slap bang in the middle of the Fallowfield student district. Streets lined with terrace houses are home to the future academics of the world, and the nearby Owens Park student halls provide hundreds (nay, thousands) of mouths that need feeding. Despite this large catchment market, Trof hasn't gone the pile-it-high-sell-it-cheap route, and instead serves up high-end grub at mid-end prices (with massive portions!).

Inside the place is a little on the cramped/small side, but this just adds to the character of the place. The breakfasts are lovingly prepared, and washed down with a mellow coffee are the perfect pick-me-up. The lunches and dinners are rare in this area - quality foods, with enough flare to warrant prices much higher than quoted. Well served, well cooked, and well tasty.

Upstairs is a second bar area with a major faux pas - the DJ is sitting down! Never mind, we'll forgive them this one tiny error, and we're guessing that the jockey that night had tired legs.

Cosy, snug, warm, and just what you need after a heavy night. The breakfasts in particular are very tasty and they have really good music playing throughout the day which reminds you of the jukebox in Corbieres.

i think the chefs....especially the head chef and the spanish looking one deserve a medal for their sillyness in the face of a sunday

What's wrong with a dj sitting down? They could have a disability, or maybe just don't want to stand up all night. As long as the tunes and mixing are good who cares?

And absolute LOL at the person saying the cringeworthy bufoon Brandon Block is a good dj!

They need to get out more.

Had breakfast here sunday morning with a hangover, nice selection of fruit juices etc on the menu. Had a sausage and bacon sandwich which was delicious, my friends had similar things also looked tasty. The venue itself was nice and the price wasn't too bad considering the quality of the food. Great staff too, not your usual cafe waiters/barmen.
