lovely bar, lovely drinks, very entertaining watching people walk into the glass door, staff are a little strange and the service leaves somewhat to be desired but over all really good night

went down on monday afternoon after the bar show. the place is amazing, the lads behind the bar really know their stuff, and the food was fantastic. love the bar front. first class. please ignore all the jumped up chav muppets who give this place a bad review, F*CK OFF to wetherspoons and never darken this doorstep again

Went in on thursday with my other half for something to eat and ended up being in there until the death drinking cocktails with the friendly barstaff. They told us to come back on saturday night. So thats exactly what we did and it was one of the best nights out that us and our friends had had in a long time. Only downfall is we had to queue up for 5 minutes but totally worth it!

Went in on Saturday night and the place was rammed. Decor is different to say the least, but in a good way. Had a really good night. Ok, they don't do draught beer but if that is what you insist on drinking then there are plenty of places that do nearby. Personally i'd much rather have a great tasting bottle of imported lager in here than a pint of flat Fosters in Bluu!

walrus is not a comfortable place to be. in fact, it's a bit like being trapped inside a vivid nightmare you might imagine an agonized expressionist painter to suffer. but not a real artist, just some hapless fool on bad opium dreaming his talentless, obvious and oh so heavily laboured vision.

Nothing wrong with it, just not suitable for the location, that's all. What's with 'no draft' policy??? It is seriously uncool - I hate draft beer but also dislike places which decide that not serving it makes them somewhow desirable.

To the idiot 10 down, niehter Walrus, Fab or TV 21 are owned by the same people. You made that up. I like the drinks, if you don't why not go to the printworks, it's a short walk and probably more up your street.

I went there on Friday just gone to see what it was like. No draught beer, bottled beer though which no one seemed to be drinking, so me and my friends decided we would all have a cocktail. Asked the barmaid for THREE, she made one, asked me for 6 quid and if there would be anything else. I said yeah, another two please. She looked at me as if I was a d*ckhead, when it was her fault for not listening to me in the first place. She then walked away, served someone else and said she'd make the other two in a minute. Downed cocktail in one, left without paying. Worst bar in Manchester, horrible addition to N4.

From the same owners as Fab Cafe and TV21 - Walrus is their new upmarket venture. They've obviously spent some money on the design and furniture - this is more akin to a posh youth club rather than a holding bar at a Quazar or bowling alley like the others. But still just as crazy and stupid looking! It's very polished and some lovely things to look at, not the scrappy staff however, on Saturday night when we popped in 2 of them looked drunk behind the bar, the other was so rude and condescending we felt unwelcome (rotund boyish man, beard, no chin, kind of like a furry sweating pumpkin!), when we were charged £14 for 2 drinks we decided to make them our last! Unfortunately it's the same level of service and drinks as the other bars, sloppy at a massive price increase! £14 for 2 bland drinks - OUCH! Save your money, if you want to visit a shiny bar go to the Deansgate area.

What a mess! fortunately we were blind drunk or we would have been upset, as it was, the calamity of errors that is Walrus was very funny! Horrid decor, patronising staff and rude management. Homoerotic Smoothie Sweatshop, music decor and drinks - Rocky Horror! We love you Bluu!

Went to Walrus on Saturday afternoon and loved it. The decor is amazing and so are the drinks.Its mainly cocktails on the menu but you dont know what alcohol is in the drink until you get it. You just pick your drink from the fruity description and wait to be surprised. Quite pricy but well worth the visit.

MY GIRLFRIEND AND I ARE SO EXCITED THAT THIS PLACE HAS JUST OPENED WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE OF OUR APARTMENT.THIS PLACE SHINES AND THE FOOD IS WELL UNDERPRICED(think they ll hitch some of these up as place becomes more popular)

Unlike the previous comment about unfriendly barstaff, crap menu etc, we found our visit to walrus to be a complete eye opener. It's fantastic to see a bar of this calibre in the northern quarter. It can only make the area better. P.S WE found the barstaff to be most welcoming!!!

Popped in to drink away the memorys of xmas shopping... did the trick! Great cocktails, nice crowd, good service. I didn't try anything to eat but menu looks good. It will be intresting to see what its like in 6 mounths time. I like the decor my fav colour... i think I'm gonna love that walrus, wont be the first time after a couple of cocktails ;)

Crap drinks menu, supposed to be kitsch, but decor is tacky, too bright, not sure it will ever be busy enough to fill the space. Hated the barstaff-unfriendly,same old northern quarter rubbish really.Also not a very welcoming or comfortable place to be in.

Fits perfectly into the northern quarter! Funky little place with funky tasting drinks and a funky little food menu.

I had salt and pepper squid which was perfectly portioned, really easy to eat and welllll tasty! I EVEN GOT FREE PRAWN CRACKERS WHILE I WAITED!

Can't remember what I drank but that was well tasty too!

Perfect bar in the perfect place. And no idiots!
