What a dissapointment. Myself and three friends went to ye olde cock in Didsbury for an evening meal last night. We ordered two portions of fish and chips with mushy peas and two fish pies. After almost an hour, (the place wasnt busy) the food arrived. The chips were disgusting, cold and looked as though they were the remannats off other peoples returns. The fish was tiny, and the peas far from being mushy were hard and cold in a seperate bowl. The fish pie had a chees topping which was all that could be tasted it was so strong, again the chips were disgusting. We complained and were told we didnt have to pay for the fish and chips, hardly recompence for a ruined night out. How hard is it to cook fish and chips ?. The worst thing of all, the price, ?11.50 for fish and chips. The cock used to be a great eating place, now, give it as wide a berth as possible.

The Ye olde cock is now a beautiful place to visit. It has had a major refurb and the interior and court yard look amazing. I took my family for a meal the other day and had a great experience. Recomend :-)

Had a great night in Ye Olde Cock. Awesome mixing of chilled house music through until midnight...just as shame that it is not open until 1 am!

Called in for a quick bite last Saturday - had a great meal and stayed for drinks (enjoying the DJ's choice of music too) - very much recommend!

My girlfriend i went for a sunday roast. After waiting over a hour we aksed for our money back, which we recieved. no apologies given and i think they weren;t even bothered. Stay well clear.

Not good! After waiting over 50mins fr our food to come. wish it didnt it was that rubbish. Ordered chicken burger and chips and 2 steak in peppercorn sauce and chips. Steak had more fat than meat and peppercorn sauce was horrible. Chicken was way over cooked which made it touch and chewy. Overall a poor meal.

Absolutely amazing place! Staff so friendly and helpful. My girlfriend and I both had Sunday roast and was delicious. Proper carved meat (none of that packet rubbish) and a homemade Yorkshire pudding. We went on a friends recommendation and been back loads since. Saturday nights are good too with dj playing some Ibiza chill out tunes and a bit of funk. Overall 10/10, this is what didsburys needed in ages!
