> MAPS Festival Review Now a staple on the NQ calendar, MAPS is back this year with a whole weekend of live music, bands, DJs and 'stuff', spread out across the many and varied venues in the Northern Quarter. There's things going on all weekend, from Friday afternoon to Monday night. > We Love Sankeys Review A bi-monthly event at Sankeys, We Love... Have sorted out a top line up for this Bank Holiday special. > Hacienda 27th Birthday Party Review Sankeys annual homage to the legendary club, this year conveniently falling on the first May bank holiday weekend. > Arthouse Review Arthouse hits town on17 April 2009 with a much anticipated Manchester debut for Leftroom. DJs Matt Tolfrey and Marc Ashken will be gracing the ?secret ?venue being especially set up for this event in an old industrial building in Ancoats. Arthouse promise a ?hedonistic den where the disparate elements of sound and light will provide a compulsive, intuitive yet inclusive party vibe,? which all sounds very nice but basically involves an old warehouse having a bar, sound system and, presumably, working toilets installed. The Leftroom DJs will be joined by Arthouse resident Moid to provide the venue-limited 250 punters with a range of electro beats to keep their dance moves busy for eight hours. There?s more planned from Arthouse for 2009 so keep an eye out for more secret venues and big names. > Vinyl Frontier Review A new weekly event in Bar Centro with free entry, playing the best indie, electro and soul. |
