About Piccadilly

If you travel back ten years ago, when Manchester was recovering from the IRA Bombing, then you'd find few people who were willing to spend the night in Piccadilly. The area had fallen upon hard times - and this was most evident with the awful Piccadilly Train Station - so most Mancunians avoided it like the plague. Roll forward to the modern day and Piccadilly is unrecognisable, with a stunning new station, new apartment buildings and finally a host of modern, upmarket hotels. The Malmaison was the first to land, and since then the City Inn and the Macdonald Hotel have opened up - all huge hotels that offer excellent service (in a mass-market boutique hotel kind of way), but more importantly they do so without costing the earth (rooms at all three come in at around £100, often lower). With the city centre just a few minutes walk away (Piccadilly is really part of Central Manchester anyways) and the cool, quirky shops, bars and restaurants of the Northern Quarter right on your doorstep Piccadilly is now the place to stay.

One Piccadilly Place, Piccadilly, Manchester.
A huge 285 bedroom hotel for Manchester City Centre. The City Inn is clearly a cut above (ipods in rooms, floor to ceiling windows) and the location is perfect - what's best is you can grab a room at the City Inn from just £139 for a double. Great service, great views of the city centre. A Luxury hotel for the under 40s.

Piccadilly, Piccadilly, Manchester.
The ultimate mass-market Boutique hotel, and despite being eclipsed by some of it's neighbours the Malmaison is still a cut-above the average city centre hotel, yet with rooms from £99 it's a bargain. Famed for it's restaurant, with it's signature steak frites, the hotel offers room service, an on-site gym, bar and a restaurant all within a central Manchester location.
