Starting way back in 1999 Kindergarten has long been the destination of choice for underground house and techno lovers, and the intimacy (150 capacity) and dangerous entrance (winding metal staircase) just add to the appeal. Inside there's a quality sound system, suitable small toilets and a decent sized bar and plenty of seating. One of our favourite venues? Yes.

Kindergarten's early years were more about big name guests, but in the last few years they've settled on a policy of bringing 'bubbling under' DJs and Live acts to Manchester for the first time. Such is the loyalty of their regulars that they're willing to come down and pay their money even if they sure of who they're coming to see.

For the uninitiated, Kindergarten is a friendly club so it's well worth a visit. Tickets normally start around the ?5/?6 mark so it's not going to break the bank either.
