not been since early noughtys.eric morrillo amazin. sasha amazin. remember the bouncers were always ok wit me.never sure tho jeans trainers or shoes pants?always got in tho. always a nice up 4 it crowd n little trouble. how is the re furb,crowd,n dress code 4 lads plp?

I have been attending sankeys for many years but would like to complain about last saturday. Myself and 6 other friends ordered and paid for tickets for 08/05/10 via internet, there were 2 queues outside when we got there and i and 3 of the friends went in to the queue where you had to show your bank card. we had travelled all the way from anglesey, n wales and we were told that it was full by the bouncers and we couldnt go in. they said we had to hand over our tickets and take a tenner or just leave. this was disgusting, they then let others in and charged up to £50 for our tickets as we watched. we had travelled a long way and also paid for a hotel. this should not be tolerated and we are so disappointed. i would like an early response on this matter please and what action you will be taking. I am sure your company does not uphold such actions. the other 3 who didnt have to show bank cards were allowed in, so our party was dissolved. please answer asap.

As 1 of the doorstaff, i enjoyed the comments from people who only tell 1 side of a story! isnt it funny that people have short term memory when they're treated well by doorstaff and dont rush to make a comment about the good we have done but the second something bad happens they must tell the world! The problem is sometimes we can come to work in a bad mood like everyone does, and other times you forget you've had a few to drink or other things... and you think your right. so the next time your thinking of having a winge, just take a second to think about when were helping some drunken or drugged up person who cant look after thereselves, or when were giving first aid because next time it could be YOU..........

Sankey's is awesome, however agreed about the rude door staff! I see them refusing people for a range of small things to do with the dress code. For girls Less is more and for guys it's quite unclear! Sad to see young girl's nights ruined because the door staff are on a power trip!

Monday's at Sankey's are my favourite. You can guarentee a good night out here. Advice is to get your name down on the guest list for reduced queue times and cheaper admission!

went for the first time on fiday 19th, had a great time other than exoeriencing how completely and utterly rude the doorman (who was looking after the pre booked tickets queue) was. I told him in no uncertain terms his manner was rude, aggressive and uneccessary, and he should do well to remember that if it wasnt for decent folk paying out their hard earned cash he probably wouldnt have been working. I find it incredible that doormen think they can talk to anyone in a totally disrespectful way for no reason at all and I for one will not tolerate this and will not be paying again! I booked online for 3 girls upfront, arrived early, all well dressed, polite and just queueing up for our tickets, to be shouted at ......

I too had this problem as apparantly the coat i was wearing was not
suitable, normal black winter coat. Whilst I respect the club has a
dress code I feel that it is highly inappropriate for staff (The Two
Young Ladies on the door ) to behave like school children and instead
of telling you this straight off to direct you th...rough the barriers
with the belief that you are actually going to gain admission into the
club is extreemly unprofessional and could insight people. This
behaviour is hardly a good way to promote your club and as result i
will be makeing this clear on any reviews ov the club as I feel this is
extreemly disrespectful to paying customers who have travelled to your
club with the belief that it is supposed to be a friendly place.
I have been clubbing for 18 years and have never experianced this kind ov behaviour, I think you should take the time to make clearer what is acceptable attire as personally the current system seems to be for the amusement of staff and a bit of a power trip. I also feel that it is extreemly unfair not to refund the ticket as it does not state clearly what can and cannot be worn.

Don't bother going then, it's a proper club!

Im going tomorrow I hope it is not too ravey as that's not really my thing. I prefer chart and commercial dance. Hope it's not full of pink haired ravers high on stuff. LOL.

Mint to be sure, bouncers can be **** i've heard tho, not had problems so far yet tho. Only gets slightly tedious when the place gets rammed and u cant fight a spot to dance for people elbowing past ya. Pricey on the drinks but I think it's great value for money in terms of entry. You pay nearly ?12 to get into plenty a terrible commercial nightclub on a saturday. I usually drink tap water all night anyway so cost isnt an isse...Was there for Sebastien Leger in March 09, incredible.

I went the 1st time when I was 16 (in 1996)-oops! Girls were walking around with huge bags containing a manner of all strange things,haha. Dave Vincent has a great appetite for fun but he's ruined the place refurbing it all swanky and pretentious.Everyone loved the old Sankeys,he could have tweaked it a little but it's all out pretentious now although I don't think the crowd are that bad on a Fri,or maybe I'm just too busy dancing?!
Mr Vincent,stop letting ejits in (girls in high heels and boys in shirts!) and maybe we could bring it back to how it was in 1999-2003, thay were the best years!Cute boys in here though ;)

sankeys is awsome, we've always been able to have a proper RAAAVE, when we go down there... shame now that its becoming home to a more pretentious crowd - lost a lot of its underground grungy atmosphere. God forbid it will be like romp in a couple of months

The club refurb is out of this world! The phazon sounds much better the enlarged main room!
However, although saturday has always been a more dressy affair. The door staff, in particular, the boy, who was picking the crowd, were absolutly, ridiculous. Its one thing to want people to make an effort. But u couldnt tell what was what with his door policy! He seemed to picking out at least one person from every group that turned up! This wasnt just the rockport crouwd! This was people who had obviously made an effort with their dress, and were there for a good night with good music. I mean, i saw one guy told, that he was ok, so long as he took of his coat! So does this mean that even stuff that is going straight to the cloakroom is also subject to a rule? Book up your act Sankeys, or u will loose alot of your faithhful.
