thursdays are the best! great venue and great music but weekend are not that great could do with something different to be honest.

Are Saturday nights similar to that of a Thursday night? It's mainly 80's music on Thursday and it's awesome as it's fairly cheesy. Is the music similar? Thinking of coming next week, but don't want to be disappointed.

can someone do something with saturday nights here.... its a great space and I love the upstairs terrace, but at the moment its just not happening!

Going back a few years the SubSpace basement was taken over every Friday and Saturday with Funkademia and Northern Funk. They buggered off and Sub Space put on Superfunk which is basically exactly the same.

hmmmm.

went on saturday and sorry to say I dont think the night is as good as it used to be.... the music is ace but the crowd has changed for the worse.

you shouldnt really mention funkademia in the text, its different and its good so have faith in what you do, stop living in the shadow of funkademia and just get on with it as its all good.... I would hope that you do enjoy your own night superfunk ;-)

Comparisons with Funkademia are fair but the music policy is probably a bit broader at Superfunk. I've heard, house, indie, hip-hop and a few really random tunes as well in recent months. Always good for a party.

Have had a few mega nights out at Superfunk over the last year since Funkademia left and as someone who used to attend Funkademia too, I prefer Superfunk actually - maybe more commercial isn't that cool, but it makes for a brilliant atmosphere. The people are friendly, the prices are OK (there are always some drinks on offer) and the DJs are ACE, especially that girl - it's fab to see a girl DJing, and she always brings the house down! Pretty fit as well ;-)
