We are sorry to say that the Ampersand was repossessed from the owner on Friday and subsequently Twisted Elegance has ceased its events at this venue with immediate effect. This means that we will not be hosting an event there tonight 8th December 2007.


We are now seeking a suitable venue to host our future events.

Its simply ebst night out in manchester. Guys on doors are pretty easy to get on with, D.J`S play some top tunes and bar staff are a good lot as well. I have to say ive never had a bad night out in there! Its always fun.

I had the best night I've had in a long time when me and my mates came! Coming from Liverpool thought everybody would be quite nasty with us but everybody was sound!

I think that Manchester clubbing in general has gone a bit quiet over the last few months, but it seems to be turning the corner again. Maybe the country is going through a bit if a credit crisis.

not as busy as it used to be but still one of the best nights in town... ampersands has gone a bit scally but twisted has always tried to keep them out

just been reading some of the reviews and cannot believe that some people have actually slated twisted not amused, its by far the best night in Manchester, been going for years and never had a bad night yet. Also, the dress policy clearly states, be twisted, be elegant, any one who comes like a tramp are not likely to enter, so why that's a joke I do not know. 5th birthday was amazing Mr Alan Hartley you are a legend, thank you

I've been coming to Ampersand monthly on Saturday nights since it opened. It's still my favourite by a long shot and I've travelled to clubs all over the UK.

If I had it my way thought the door policy would be even tougher!

On Sunday evening I was at Ampersand and when I left I realised I had lost my new Sony camera and I'm devastated, if anyone had found it or took it home please return it to me! I am willing to offer a reward as it was a gift from my partner and the photo's are not replaceable and if you want to just drop it off back at Ampersand then let me know

Love Twisted Elegance - went for the re-opening party and had a lot of fun. Great tunes. We were a bit puzzled as to what the refurb consisted of though - couldn't spot the difference at all and the loos still don't lock. Nonetheless I'm really looking forward to going back.

Dress code is a joke, went to turn mills in London, in jogging bottoms, people were there in there lounge wear and still got in, this is LONDON

Went here for the first time last Saturday and loved every minute. The music is just awesome, definitely the best club I have been to in a long time. Can't wait to go again!

Went here for the first time on Sat. Main pluses were the excellent DJs, who played great tunes throughout, the very attractive venue and up-for-it crowd.
Minuses though included two sound system failures, a troop of about 8 policemen entering the club (fortunately they removed a couple of people without hassle but it was disconcerting nonetheless) and the toilets. I can only speak for the lady's' loos, but let's just say they were extremely cramped, there were too few of them, (massive queues throughout the night with people constantly barging in) none of the locks worked, and as the night wore on they became utterly disgusting. Other people in the queue complained of the same. Seriously guys, this is a great venue - so sort the toilets out!
Overall, a very good night, but considering it was ?13 on the door, I would expect better facilities!

Saturday night was my first visit to Twisted elegance @ Ampersand an I absolutely loved it! The club, people and music was fantastic Think it could now be my regular instead of going to Liverpool!

I still have great nights down at Twisted though I don't head to the club as often as I used to. It's nice to see they've mixed it up with more guest DJs. Love it!

Twisted is still the place to be! I went to the Ampersand for the first time in over two years and it was rammed and had one of the best nights
