They say: "Uni-Challenge, the clubbing highlight of Manchester Pride’s Big Weekend, returns for its eighth year at Manchester University Students Union on Saturday 25th August 2006. Catering for 3000 clubbers over five huge arenas, from 10pm until 5am, Uni-Challenge is now synonymous with Manchester’s Pride and brings you some of the biggest names in clubland.

As usual, Federation host the Main Arena (this year in the main building as the academy is closed due to building works), Federation is one of the biggest gay brands with events across the U.K. and abroad. Other clubs on board include London’s legendary Trade, for those who like their music on the tougher side, the super-sexy party people from Hed Kandi bring you their new queer extravaganza - Queer Kandi, Homo will join forces with Homiesexual for an urban fueled pop & R&B fest, and Federation Classics will take you on a trip through the last decade with all your favourite anthems.


This year all the stops are being pulled out, with more attention than ever being paid to the production and sets in all arenas, including lasers, state of the art lighting and projections. Combine these with extravagant stage shows and in-crowd entertainment and it means that Uni-Challenge 2007 will be a feast for all senses. The hugely popular outdoor fun fair will also return, this year with 5 white knuckle rides!"
