A stunning venue, but not quite up to par in my book. Room is a modern english restaurant that certainly delivers on looks, but is sadly let down by service and - cough - the foods. Certainly one of the best looking restaurants, and I'd recommend that you give it a go at least once just to enjoy the decor, and for the bar, but don't expect too much. A great restaurant for a date, for the parents, or for friends.

One of the first trendy Indian restaurants in Manchester, and still worth a visit - while it's still there. Shimla Pinks is opposite the Manchester Courts building, a minutes stroll from Deansgate, and the food, service and the dining experience are top notch. Expect around £25/for two, and enjoy it while you can as that area is soon to be redeveloped.

A popular modern English restaurant in the heart of Castlefield. Two floors of dark dining tables, and a mid priced menu that delivers on food, but not on entertainmend. Comes alive on Sunday though, when the locals come out in force, and is a great choice during the Summer months if you can bag a table in their small, roped off courtyard. A perfect restaurant for a date, in fact probably equally good for a break up meal.
