ChaophrayaManchesterChaophrayaCuisine: Thai

Been twice now and something seems to be lacking here. I worry that they may be toning down some of the dishes as they were on the bland side to saythe least, with very little chilli heat. In my book, the chilli banana in Wilmslow leads the way for Thai in the Manchester/Cheshire area....Authentic Thai family recipes.

I went for lunch recently with a friend and our kids. The food was, as usual, amazing and the staff were brilliant with the kids. Top marks, yet again.

We have only been once for lunch & found it to be excellent in food, service, very friendly staff & beautiful surroundings. We will definately be going back & have recommended it to our friends.

I have recently been back to Manchester, as i no longer live there, and in the last year have been to Chaophraya for lunch twice and dinner once. On all 3 occasions the food, service and overall hospitality have been fasntastic What a shame a recently opened, overly sized restraunt in a lonely location, feel the need to degrade this place to ingratiate their own
Top marks from someone who has also taken the risk with bringing very critical friends along too!
Keep up the good work

I am a very close friend of the Head Chef in Chaophraya, and would like to make it known the below comments are by competitors of Chaophraya. The Head Chef is nicknamed Pum. She has worked at Chaophraya since 2005 in Leeds (where I met her - I work in a rival Thai restaurant in Leeds) and Pum moved to open Chaophraya Manchester last year. She is still at Chaophraya, and can be seen every day downstairs on the grill! The food quality is as good as ever, and the fact the place is the busiest in Manchester shows this. The recruitment advert on the website is because there are to be 3 new Chaophraya's opening this year. As a Thai national, I am ashamed to hear such comments but realise Vermilion (Indian) and Nings (Malaysian) would not understand about being Thai. Does their restaurants being worryingly empty sway their judgement?

Food has gone down lately and I think I will be going back to the best Thai in MANCHESTER. I asked the staff and they informed me that the original chefs had long since left and that they are struggling to get staff to work here. I am sorry but it tells in the food.

I went with my Thai friend to this restaurant and she was upset that the owners have mixed Buddha's in-between alcohol a no for Thailand. Is this restaurant authentic Thai? The owners don't seem to realise this offends Thai.

Friends at work brought Chaophraya to my attention and I have been a loyal customer ever since. Chaophraya has a reputation for great hospitality and they prove this with every visit. Outstanding food and a lovely atmosphere match their service. I highly recommend Chaophraya for any occasion.

Really loved this place. Food was amazing and it was surprisingly busy for a Monday. Staff thoroughly looked after us and I will certainly be returning. One of the best restaurants in Manchester for some time.

Absolutely loved this restaurant. Only went in for a drink after work with my wife because the bar looked nice. Went for food upstairs and was thoroughly impressed. The chicken was delicious and my wife's soup was exquisite. I'm not a big fan of seafood but they may have turned me. The staff seem really nice which is a pleasant change from most restaurants and the place is stunning. We'd certainly recommend.
