I went to Dough last weekend with some friends, have never been before, thought it was lovely, a nice atmosphere and the food was gorgeous! I really enjoyed it, had the vegi pizza which was nice, and also had a pasta with chickin that was goos too, We got the Ceaser salad on the side and it was v.v. nice ! As I know my Ceaser salads. All in all, I was stuffed and had a nice nite........... Oh the staff were pleasent too, Iv had better service tho....

Went to Dough last night for the first time with my daughter. The interior is pleasant enough however, we sat a a table next to an area where the glasses and plates were kept. Why they have decided to locate them there I have no idea as the staff constantly squeezed past us to get to the glasses. So much so that we asked to be moved. The people next to us were also annoyed by this and the waitress agreed that the layout around that side of the restaurant was bad.

Now the food: We ordered a mango, tomato and onion salad which sounded delicious and baked dough sticks to start. The dough sticks were quite small and dry but edible. I was really looking forward to the salad but when it came I couldn't believe it. It was simply 4 slices of over ripe tomato, 8 small chunks of under ripe mango and a piece of caramelised onion. It was so small and poor I felt that the price of £3.95 was ridiculous. Simply don't order it or you will be disappointed.

We then ordered 2 pizzas: 'From the Sea' and Piccante. Both were ok but not very hot. Can't really add much more to that, just mediocre.

With 2 drinks the bill came to just under £30. Not too expensive but when you consider that you can go to Pizza Express and get a hot pizza and a decent sized salad and garlic bread it does then become expensive.

The acid test for me is always: Would I go back? and the answer based on last night's food is No.

The staff and restaurant were pleasant enough but the food was lacklustre. If you can pay less elsewhere and get better food why would you return?

Went to Dough with a group of 8 on Friday the 19th June, and all of us were severely disappointed with the food.I had the "Garlic Tiger Prawn" starter which turned out to be tiny frozen prawns in some sort of juice. A friend had a pasta dish which was bland and overcooked - the pasta was like mash.Everyone else had pizza - which turned out to be the real let-down. The base does indeed taste like a cheap frozen base from ASDA. The toppings were very sparse, one friend had nothing at all on a quarter of her pizza. If you dont like cheese on your pizza you ll love Dough as you ll only get 3 small slices of Mozzarrella per pizza. We eventually got our food at half price and an apology from the manager which was good. The restaurant itself is well done up and the staff are friendly - just a shame about the food.Regarding the review from Fliss - all of us actually thought the pizzas in Pizza Express are much better!

We ate at Dough on Friday 12th June 2009. The location's great, staff are friendly and the service is good. The pizza though....the bases just aren't right, which isn't good for a pizza restaurant. They resembled those cheap pizza bases you can buy at a supermarket, ready to top with your own ingredients. Bland and crunchy. Some of the toppings are a bit odd too, although you can't blame them for wanting to try something a bit different. The restaurant itself is well done out with lots of space. If they got the pizza's right, then it'd be spot on!

Three of us went to Dough last Thursday night for a quick pizza following drinks after work. Service was good, food was excellent and the price isn't bad either! Definitely recommend it.

all of the herbs are freshly chopped and added to the sauce bases. i cant speak for the service but the food is beautifully prepared and they are very accommodating should you require changes to the set menus.

My son has recently moved to an apartment in the Northern Quarter and he recommended I eat at Dough as they make a gluten free pizza. So we had a family lunch at Dough on Sunday 15th Feb. I havent had a proper pizza since 1999 when I found out I had to have a gluten free diet. I thought the pizza was fab and would recommend anyone on a gluten free diet to give Dough a try, they won't be disappointed. Good service and very friendly staff. Definitely going back again.

We went in for a bite to eat and the salad side dish was like rubber and the tomatoes were not fresh. Nor were there any fresh herbs on the pizza - you may aswell go to a Pizza Hut

My boyfriend and I and another couple went to Dough the first week it opened and we were really disappointed. The restaurant was busy and the staff were friendly but the food was a total let down. The menu was trying too hard and the pizza topping combinations were just odd, beef and grape? My friend's husband found a large bone in his pizza and when we complained we were told that sometimes that happens when fresh roasted chicken is used. Not good enough! Also the pizzas were bigger than the plates they were served on so you constantly had to slide your pizza around your plate to cut it. Our waitress, although obviously new to the restaurant, didn?t know the menu very well and couldn?t answer many of our questions without checking first with the chef. Considering the restaurant?s name we weren?t impressed with the pizza bases, neither thin and crispy nor deep pan. Certainly nothing special. Aside from all that, the thing that upset me most was the sprinkling of dried herbs on the pizza. Tasteless dust. Although saying that, Pizza Express garnishes its pizzas in the same way so maybe I am missing the point? Clean, friendly and inviting but if you can?t get pizza right why are you bothering?
