Linen review
A new Modern British restaurant for Manchester, located in the huge Manchester235 complex (eating, drinking, gaming). Linen is promising to be literally the best of the best.

the comment below just show what people trying to do, just to get something for free...sad.. i been there many many times, and i know the manager, and the staff, so i know that this is one the best restaurants in the city...
that is happend when somebody didn't get all for free..

Food cold, coffee cold, one main course did not turn up, service was appalling, manager (Steve Bond) would not come to the table and was not interested one iota in taking ownership of all our problems. Worst dining experience in Manchester for over 10 years - one of our guests is a food critic so we do know what we are talking about !

As with all of the Manchester235 facility, an absolute shambles. Pure amateur hour. Woefully undertrained staff result in a very sad experience. There are MUCH better meals to be had in Manchester for a LOT less money.

I must admit i went to Linen when it had just opened last year and it was not very good to say the least but i went on Friday 12th October and the experiance was superb. The food and service has now been sorted thanks to a new team going in.
It is full most of the time so book in advance. it's worth a look.

worst service i've received in a restaurant in manchester, the real measure of any organisation in a service industry is fixing mistakes when they make them and this was an example of total ignorance of customer needs and lack of understanding and sympathy for diners... will never be returning again and would urge anyone to avoid it like the plague....

OVER PRICED - ABOVE AVERAGE FOOD BUT PORTIONS OF ACCOMPS TOO SMALL. AT £50 A HEAD IT'S TOO EXPENSIVE - BIG PLATES, SMALL PORTOINS - LEFT FEELING HUNGRY. NICE DECOR, SERVICE GOOD. TOILETS ARE MIXED SEX ..... POOR.

My husband and myself celebrated our anniversary at linen on Saturday, and could not have asked for anything better, the food and service was outstanding, and the decor was very regal, you felt like you were in a top class restaurant. The menu was very reasonably priced with a good selection, as was the wine list. We will defiantly be going back there soon. Keep up the good work!

Excellent restaurant, food superb, staff very courteous and helpful. One criticism: they do not stock Campari, this needs to be addressed.

Excellent restaurant, will give the very best in Manchester a run for their money. Firstly the design of the dining room is very good, nice and open, yet broken up enough to seem intimate, located within the superb Manchester 235 casino, it is reminiscent of the fine dining eateries in Bellagio and Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. The wine list is extensive, and offers some very reasonably priced wines, alongside some more costly bins. The menu offers a choice of 8 or 9 dishes for each course, with a range of prices that certainly aren't cheap, but are not over the top (like perhaps La Mont). Many of the dishes are heavily focused on local, North West produce, fish and meat, great if you are looking to cut down on your food miles! Recommendations are: Foie Gras Pate, Duck Breast or Twice Baked Lancashire Cheese Souffle as starters. Veal Chop or the fantastic Chicken Biryani dish for the main, we didn't manage a desert! Overall cost for a meal for 4, with 2 nice bottles of wine and coffee was c. £200, so it isn't cheap. but it represents better value than La Mont, Opus One or the River Room at The Lowry Hotel.
