Numero review
A new Italian restaurant for Manchester, located in the huge Manchester235 complex (eating, drinking, gaming). Numero is promising to be literally the best of the best.

Went on a Wednesday night for my boyfriend's 30th. Had a delicious meal and fabulous service by all the staff here. Will definitely be coming back.

I must admit Daniel O,Donnell must have nothing better to do with his time than write nothing more than a stupid review about Numero we went there on Tuesday 16th October for Tasty Tuesday " 50 % off food" and it was superb. Great Service great food and great envormentals.
Worth a look except if for your name is Daniel Tool.

I have to disagree with Daniel o' Donnell he mus have visited a different restaurant to me amd my friends. we had a great night, our waitress was lovely and the food was ballisimo after telling the manageress to pass our compliments to the chef he came out to speak to the table which was a great touch. Numero Uno

Numero is fantastic Italian restaurant with a great choice of authentic italian cuisine... Its service is spot on with a relaxed casual feel.. Linen is also good upstairs in machester235 if you are looking for a fine dining experience.

the numero is nice, but LINEN above the numero, is much much more professional...should be the best restaurant 2008

"It's all about the service", as Alan Shearer once remarked. How right he, even when it comes to food.

Last night we ate at Numero. The place itself is a pristine looking glassine L shaped room at Manchester 235--a Vegas type experience in the heart of the city centre.

I expected a lot and I was mightily disappointed. We were greeted by a pleasant looking but entirely disengaged maitre d, and we seated so close to the front door I felt I should have been taking coats.

Five minutes in we ordered drinks. Ten minutes later they got there. I noticed the measure was so small in my Martini that a fly was reduced to paddling. The San Pellegrino came through warm and without ice.

The maitre d' took our order as no waiter was in the vicinity. She was about as familiar with the menu as I am with Fly Fishing by JR Hartley--which is to say not a lot. Grinning at a bloke at a table further down to say hello, she finally deigned to take my order---bizarrely asking if we wanted " just one bottle of wine"--there were two of us, so what kind of lush she thought I was is open to debate.

When the starters arrived they were lovely. Dainty, crisp and flavoursome. Unfortunately, the wine didn't arrive until after we'd finished. It was white and warm--not two things you necessarily want. The waiter plonked it down in the centre of the table to chill.

When the mains came I had the veal. It was pretty tough and not a little greasy, and unfathomably rolled up like a magic carpet. The missus' spaghetti was tasty and would have made for a far better accompaniment than the rock solid potatoes that came with the veal.

Midway through the main meal the waiter asked if all was well. I mentioned the less than ice cold wine. He took it back and brought two glasses of cold wine, which I gulped down with the remnants of my veal.

One might imagine that leaving you without the wine you'd ordered would lead to an automatically gratis glass of wine. When the bill came they'd charged me £7.50 for the 2 glasses. When I questioned the policy, the scowling waiter advised me that " We can't resell the wine"--referring, I'm sure, to the original bottle they'd sent me that was warm!

The food was okay--nothing special, and certainly not a patch of Simply Heathcotes where we'd eaten on Saturday. The service was universally appalling.

I recommend you body swerve Numero until they get a grip of the service and begin to look at least interested in customer service. 3/10

Booked Numero for Directors Christmas Dinner. Fabulous food and service and the desert was exquisite. Couldn't have asked for more - Very pleasantly surprised - was expecting mediocre at that time of year.
