Pesto review
Pesto manchester photoThis popular new-comer has been getting a lot of attention lately, and rightly so. Tapas are typically small Spanish dishes, but Pesto has thrown the rule book our of the window and provided miniature meals from other countries. Try a mini pizza or a micro-bowl of pasta. The reviews so far have been positive, and this rustic themed restaurant is well worth a visit.

Dishes start at ?3, and most meals consist of at least three dishes. Pesto is well worthy of a visit.

Went to Pesto's Manchester last night ( 23/01/10) There were 12 of us eating so we opted for the set menu at £14.95 each. What a complete and utter rip off! The food was ok but not enough of it! If it hadn't have been for the bread at the start of the meal to fill us up we would have all left starving. I have never left a review before but I feel like we were really ripped off and I am very annoyed. I will not be going back and will not be recommending it to anyone.

we got there at 4.55pm, the early diner menu ended at 5pm but they refused to let us have it...the very arrogant and rude waiter tried his hardest to sell us the overpriced bread and olives while we were waiting. The food was awful, probably microwaved...and we waited over 45 minutes.
We will never ever set foot into this awful tacky hellhole

Went to Pestos Saturday afternoon 11/07/09 before Eagles concert. Second time for missus and me, and again was served fabulous food. would highly reccomend this place to all. try about 8 dishes for two persons especially the meatballs and traditional lasagne, just mouth watering and very reasonably priced. Look forward to going again.

Went to pesto on sat 9th may 2009 it was the first time I have been & I really liked everything about it i would go again.

I visited this restaurant and thought the food and service second to none On saying that, I asked for a recipe of my meal and was unable to get it...ah well!

Went to the trafford centre Pesto today and the food was terrible. The bread at the start was the only part I enjoyed. The aubergine was hard in one of the dishes I got and the sauce looked a bit curdled in a chicken with white wine dish. The staff are really unfriendly and seem unable to smile.

... but the food isn't awful it's delicious. Since you got that simple thing so completely wrong I don't believe a word of the rest of your review.

We are fussy eaters and Pesto was lovely. We tried things we would never normally try, and as they were only ?3 or so per [little] meal, it wasn't heartbreaking when some of them weren't nice.

We found the 'knocci' bland, the spag bol very nice, the mozzerella balls delicious, and the pizza's yummy. A few of the dishes tasted a bit like they were out of a packet, but it's definitely worth trying to find the nice dishes, it was a nice relaxed meal.

After reading the reviews on here i was looking forward to a great meal before going to the theatre. I do agree that the food was hot and tasty if minimal. Howeer i did get excited when i found out on here that Peroni was on draught..... but tonight the place was full and all of a sudden there was a problem with the gas so bottles at 3 pounds each for 1/2 was the order of the day which somewhat spoilt the experience

Fantastic atmosphere and great tasty food. Really quick service even though there was quite a few of us. Waiter was brilliant and really attentive even though it was packed.

I read attentive - you obviously see what you want to...

This is my favourite restaurant its absolutely gorgeous. The atmosphere, place, setting etc are all great and the service is fantastic we've always been served really quickly with the staff checking everything is ok. The foods delicious and you can afford to try dishes you wouldn't normally try for that price - I found my favourite dish that way! 10 out of 10

After going here once, I'd never go again - the whole experience was awful! Took over two hours to get the food, and they didn't bother admitting to us that they'd mixed up the orders even after we asked numerous times - they just kept saying the food was coming soon. Were told that we could have a more expensive bottle of wine for the same price as the one we had first ordered only to find out later that they'd actually given us a cheaper one And then the food was absolutely disgusting - microwave meal! After plenty of complaining they still only gave us 30% off the bill. Awful service, awful food - Avoid!

I love this place, it is my all time favourite restaurant- go for a casual meal after shopping or before a night out with the girls- a little garlic to scare off the Manchester blokes is never a bad thing Go in a large group and get the waiter to recommend some tapas for u all to share- the risotto balls sound funny but are absolutely delicious, I don't know one person who has tried them and doesn't like them- we always have loads of alcohol and are always shocked at how little the bill comes to as there's usually food left because we're all so stuffed.

What a fantastic restaurant! It was absolutely delicious and very reasonable. Great when you can't chose just one thing from the menu. My husband and I shared 8 different dishes all superb.

I have been on four separate occasions now, with different people and each time have had really good service and absolutely beautiful food.
I would like to thank the staff for making each visit pleasurable & enjoyable experience. I will definitely be recommending Pesto to friends/family & associates.

Definitely worth a try. We had 8 dishes between 2 of us and a pint and a half of Peroni (on tap-delicious) and it only came to ?30-was well impressed! Just be cautious of the white sauce....ours tasted like warm vanilla ice-cream!
