I ate at Zizzi one evening last week and found the experience rather disappointing.

My starter of bruschetta al pomodoro was fine but the main course bistecca alla griglia was a big let-down.

The sirloin was cooked as per instructions (medium rare) but was smothered in a rather unpleasant red pesto butter, which dominated the flavour. An accompaniment of this kind is better served in a pat, placed on the steak, so that the diner can taste as little or as much of it as he likes.
The green beans with it would have been better hot, rather than served cold on a bed of rocket leaves. The scattering of grated parmesan was too liberal also.
The small amount of potatoes were cooked well enough but what was "Tuscan" about them was not immediately obvious from flavour or appearance.
I chose the dessert of panettone pudding with cinnamon ice cream. However, this became stodgy and heavy quite quickly and was not helped by being cooked in a cast iron dish, which tended to give it a slightly metallic taste.

Appauling staff! They had a bad attitude and the waiter was awful and spilt beer everywhere. I have to say the food was very tasty however i would not recommend this restaurant. Our whole night was tainted by horrendous service.
