When you're visiting Manchester for a stag do then you should definately plan ahead. There are hundreds of bars and clubs in the city centre but many won't allow large same-sex groups, and many have dress codes.
The Birdcage is a good choice for all-male parties - as long as you're happy with the entertainment - and you can reserve a table in advance.
If your stag party is on a weekend then expect the centre to be busy, especially around Deansgate, Peter Street and Deansgate Locks.

Lap dancing bars
Manchester now has four lapdancing bars - there's the stunning Boutique, complete with plush private boothes, just off Deansgate and close to Manchester Town Hall. Over in Chinatown is Long Legs, a much smaller strip club, opposite Deansgate locks is Obsessions, a fairly modern lap dancing venue that has private areas, and on Deansgate itself is the Fantasy Bar.
