Update: The Ampersand had a refit in early 2007 and the venue looks even better thanks to some decorating, and they've put in more air conditioning as the club gets VERY busy
A former members club that has recently been converted to allow us 'normal' people in, Ampersand is one of the most attractive venues in Manchester with enough space for 600 well-heeled punters to dance the night away. Popular Saturday night Twisted Elegance is packed to the brim by midnight (so arrive early!) and is a hotbed of sexy guys and girls, the weekly Plush (Fridays) is doing equally as well.
Be warned this venue has a strict dress code. Dress up, don't go in large groups and act politely!

i went there on Wednesday n was promised a great night. so we paid ?5 to get in and the night was supposed to last till 2 to 3 am. The club closed at 12pm cos there were not enough ppl. The guy who organised the party didn't even apologise when we spoke to him as if it was our own problem. Guys I'm telling u no1 cares about customers in that club. I listened to 5 songs n paid for it ?5, how ridiculous is that.

Anonymous says...went in on Saturday 1st Feb. for the opening night of Mansion, was supposed to be open till 6am paid ?8 to get in and it closed at 2 because there wasn't enough people in there, total waste of time....best club in Manchester my arse there staff are all arrogant to**ers
Anonymous says...Was there on Friday 1st feb...one of the worst nights ever the club was empty and it closed 4 hours before it was supposed to. Paid ?8 each to get in and stayed for an hour because it was sh*t Bouncers are all retards
