I didnt enjoy my night at the birdcage. It was like being sardines in a tin. It was far to packed and they were still letting people in when it was over crowded. You couldn't get to the bar and we were constantly having to push past people in order to move around. A lot of people have complained about how expensive the drinks were well I couldn't tell you as we were unable to get a drink it was that busy so we left after about an hour of just sqeezing past people the entire time of being there.

The birdcage is so much fun! i've been to alot of clubs in manchester and so far the birdcage is by far the best! I am an american so i know how to party and apparently so does the birdcage club in manchester!

Awful customer service and barstaff. I was given the wrong change and was told "come back at 4:30" when we're cashing-up - wholly unsatisfactory. When I complained more I was told that I would be ejected unless I shut-up. As this is the "in-place" at the moment but the complacent staff are rude and lacking in manners or decency. AVOID!

People who tell managers to F**k off do get thrown out matt......

The service here is as ropey as some of the costumes. My friendly barmaid shortchanged me by £10 - and denied all knowledge. The manager of the establishment still hasn't refunded me my money. I wonder how many times they can get away with this?!?

Me and my girlfriend and her mum and dad visited the birdcage after a concert at the men. At first i thought the 8 pound entry was a bit steep, but once we spent the night in there we understood what we were paying for. Amazing night we all loved it ! loved all the gr8 hostesses and music. wicked Will be visiting again very soon.

I go out in Manchester practically every weekend, I'm a big funky house girl... but oh my god, The Birdcage was amazing. Went last night, had a fabulous night, cheesy classic after cheesy classic. Am booking it for my birthday next month! Go! Go! You won't be disappointed. Only thing - boys, make sure you wear a collar or you won't be getting in. But that's not a bad thing! We like smart! Better than being stuck wi a loada chavs...

had sum good nights at the birdcage, gotta say that the crowd is different from when the start. went back last sat tho and had an ace time so keep up the good work birdcage!

I wrote the entry about being refused entry to the birdcage. I am happy to say this issue has now been resolved and would like to thank the management at the birdcage for re-arranging a night out there for our party.
We look forward to a good night.

we went for a hen night here recently and i have to say one of the best nights out in machester i have had in years our group was of mixed age ranging from 25 to 60 and every person had a brill nite

Refused entry because they one member of our large party was tipsy- but by no means causing any trouble. The older looking bouncer bloke was exceptionally rude to our party and told us to all leave, because we were questioning why they wouldn't let the one member of our party in. I have never experienced staff like that in my life. We were a well behaved group of girls out on a hen night, not looking for trouble just a good night out. The bouncer needs to learn some manners- we were treated like a group of football hooligans and we feel extemely violated. We are decent people, from all walks of life from professionals to housewives who just wanted a fun night out together. Extremely disappointed and violated by very rude and unreasonable staff.

good dancefloor although 4 pounds to get in and gave up twice after lining up for a drink for 40mins with no movement atall! crap on a wednesday night!

Have heard a lot of good and bad things about this place so we decided to go for a friends birthday to see for ourselves. We queued for about 20minutes and paid the #8 to get in. We were just about to throw our handbags down and start shaking our bums when we were told that 1 girl in our party wasnt being allowed in! She had ID to prove she was over 21 but had been told that she was obviously 'too drunk' to come in after cracking a joke with the up-his-arse-Phil-Mitchell-wannabe 'bouncer'! We tried to reason with him, 10 people had just paid to get in and he was going to ruin my friends birthday night out just because one of the party was wearing jeans! (After realising that she was no where near drunk, he changed his reason to the jeans - that everyone else in the queue had on!) We were all very disappointed and quite frankly p1ssed off as the bouncer refused to talk to us about it even though we were trying to be reasonable with him. Reasonable is one thing the doorstaff at this club cant put on their CV's so if you decide to go, make sure you dont smile, laugh or, even worse, wear any sort of denim!

hiya. went birdcage friday on a 30th bday party. it was a fantastic night. we were looked after! directed to our seats and no queueing at the bar coz hostess got us everything we wanted. bouncers were fantastic, even managed a laff n smile! luved the birdcage will def go again sooooo ignore any bad veiws on this club...... its a nite in a million

Is a really, really good night out! Great for hen parties. Was my hen party on Saturday 26th May '07. We dressed up as faries and had a fantastic time. Advice get there early so you don't have to queueing up. Also buy a few drinks at the bar so you don't have to keep going back as it can be 3/4 deep. Fantastic atmosphere and great for a night out with friends or with a party! Definatley would go back! Need to open one in Middlesbrough! Thanks for an amazing night! 90's music and the entertainment fantastic! Gonna try and upload piccys!

absolute rubbish - very overpriced, the rudest bouncers i have ever met and the drag queen shows were crap. we paid £15 each for enterance fee and a table and when we arrived were told they had all gone, total waste of time.

hated every minute it was a total waste of 10 pounds entry drinks were overpriced. ,when you could actually get served. also show was rubbish seeen better at gay village.

i got in i was 18 it was rubbish took ages to get served needed better dancers onstage the prices are over the top for what you get the staff need to livern up behind the bar they can afford to hire good staff/dancers with the money we pay !

this is a fab night if you have just been paid and are prepared to pay for a night to remember

wednesday night its the plcae to be fit girls cheap drinks

Had a fab night on saturday, would advise to get there early around 9ish or wait ages in line! Abit cramped on the dance floor thou.Lots of clean loos WITH loo roll-v impressed. Felt like a gay club for straight people-Loved it! Slightly pricey thou at £10 but what the heck it was worth it! Give it a try & see for youself...and don't forget your dancing shoes!

We went to The Birdcage last weekend, I dont know what the comments below about the doormen are about cos they are really nice, but cant be arsed with messing around I thought.
We had a great night, it was a little too hot on the dancefloor so maybe a bit of air con wouldnt go amiss but then we were dancing for about an hour non stop. Give it a try, its good

I went on a Hen do last night 30th and I had a great time, best night out id had in ages. We got in really early so went straight in. great music and great entertainment. The only thing I would say is theres only one bar and its murder trying to get a drink. It gets two busy as well they let to many people in there. i will be going again though

Dancers are poor, music is good. Didnt watch the shows as I was too busy dancing to the cheese! expensive to get n tho. 10 quid, aint worth it

The issues on here regarding the 'Change Scam' this is not something that is exclusive to this premise, but seems to be more common in busy premises with low lighting. As they say 'BUYER BEWARE' and 'CHECK YOUR CHANGE'. It can be a nice little earner for the staff, if not challenged. If they do it 50 times a night and get away with it only 4/5 times, they have doubled their wages. With the perfect excuse everytime, 'Sorry, I made a mistake'.
ADVICE: If it happens to you and is not resolved at the point of sale, and even if it is resolved tell one of the Management, but be polite and tell them you didn't make a mistake. If they are switched on they will have an idea in anycase, and they will without doubt terminate the employee's contract.

Wow, went birdcage last nite. It was fantastic. Music was good, shows were good, and we had no problem with the staff at all. I'd definitley recommend coming here. Such an amazing experience. Well Done, Birdcage!

lost my ticket for my coat last night, rang them tonight and they couldn't have been more helpful. From what I remember it was a good venue and staff were good. I'll go back.
